About Dahab Stays
We’re Kamal and Melanie, an Egyptian–Dutch couple living between Amsterdam and Dahab. Kamal has called Dahab home since 1996, long before it became widely known among international travellers. Over the years, the town has become not only where we live, but a place deeply woven into our lives.
Through Dahab Stays, we share a collection of carefully designed homes for travellers looking for comfortable and characterful places to stay in Dahab. What began as welcoming friends and visitors to homes we love, gradually grew into a small portfolio of thoughtfully curated stays across town.
Dahab is known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful coastline and unique mix of cultures. A place where desert mountains meet the Red Sea and where travellers often arrive for a few days and end up staying much longer. Creating Dahab Stays was a natural extension of our connection to this place.
With Kamal’s background in interior design and his deep local knowledge of Dahab, each home is designed to feel calm, comfortable and connected to its surroundings. The goal has always been simple: to create places that feel welcoming and easy to live in while reflecting the character of Dahab itself.

Our Approach
We believe that a stay should feel personal rather than standardised.
Instead of operating a large collection of identical properties, Dahab Stays focuses on a smaller selection of homes, each with its own character and setting. Some are steps from the beach, others offer sea views, rooftop terraces or quiet garden spaces.
Every property is chosen for its location, atmosphere and the experience it offers guests. Interiors are intentionally kept simple, comfortable and functional, combining natural materials, practical design and thoughtful details that make both short visits and longer stays feel effortless.
Because we remain closely involved with every property, we are able to maintain a consistent level of care and attention, from preparing the homes to supporting guests during their stay.
